About Our Founder

Ramesh Chandra Saharia, born on December 1, 1930, into a family of high tradition, received blessings from Mahatma Gandhi as a baby in Tangla, Assam. Raised by his father, Shri Lambodar Saharia, as an extremely polite and respectful boy, Saharia excelled academically, obtaining degrees from Cotton College, Guwahati, and Banaras Hindu University. Despite his high qualifications, he chose to become a teacher at Tangla Aided Government High School, serving as its Headmaster for fourteen years before entering the State Legislative Assembly as an MLA in 1972.

During his tenure, he played a crucial role in developing educational institutions, contributing to social services in the tribal areas of Tangla. Saharia served multiple terms as an MLA and held various ministerial portfolios, including Forest, Sericulture, Weaving, Khadi & Village Industries, Home, Jail, Civil Defense, Political Suffrage, and Revenue.

He passed away on February 8, 1982, leaving a legacy of dedication to the state's development, remembered for his amiable disposition, devotion to duty, and love for the people. The State Government paid tribute to him, acknowledging his valuable counsel and recognizing him as an able administrator...
